Trailmoor Devon Rides began as a quiet local idea in South Devon — to let visitors and residents explore the county’s open spaces without rush or noise. What started as two friends marking informal farm paths soon turned into a small, structured quad hire service built on respect for the countryside and a steady, relaxed pace. We focus on making each ride easy to follow, light on the land, and rewarding for those who prefer a calm outdoor day rather than competition.
Every route we map has been personally tested by the team. We look for shade in summer, stable terrain after rain, and clear turning points that even new riders can spot at a glance. Our maps show not only direction but the small details that help people settle into the rhythm of the trail — a bench under an ash tree, a view line towards the estuary, a patch of gravel that needs slower handling. Those small notes form the character of our routes and make each ride distinct from a generic off-road session.
We keep our approach simple: clear safety checks, honest guidance, and no unnecessary sales talk. Devon’s countryside provides the rest — open hills, fresh air, and quiet roads that wind between villages and the coast. Whether guests join alone or as a small group, we adapt routes to their confidence level and to the weather on the day. We don’t push for speed; instead, we design days that leave room to pause and take in the view. Many riders say that the lack of pressure is what brings them back.
Trailmoor Devon Rides is not a franchise or a corporate brand. We are three guides and one coordinator who live nearby and handle all bookings directly. We do not outsource or automate communication — when you write or call, you speak with one of us. This helps us stay flexible and keeps the planning clear. Our aim is to blend professionalism with a genuine local welcome. Devon is a county of small farms, hedgerows, and winding lanes; our routes respect that pattern rather than force big commercial paths into it.
Environmental care is part of our planning. We avoid erosion-prone paths, schedule seasonal rest periods for sensitive areas, and limit daily group sizes to keep the tracks quiet. Any repair or track upkeep is done with local landowners’ agreement. We maintain first-aid training, basic mechanical skills, and keep a toolkit ready for small fixes during rides. We treat quads as a way to move gently through a landscape, not to dominate it.
Trailmoor’s base is in Exeter, close to the heart of Devon, from where we reach the moors and coast within a short drive. We’re easy to find and welcome visitors who want to talk through route ideas before booking. The sense of place matters to us more than branding — the smell of wet grass, the hum of the engines before the climb, the sea wind at the ridge. That’s the Devon day we share.
